FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about VendorLine, from how pricing works and what's included in each plan to how we compare with other platforms and what getting started looks like from day one.
Pricing & Plans
How much does VendorLine cost?
VendorLine is offered in two paid plans: VendorLine Pro and VendorLine Pro Plus AI. Pro includes bid search, agency registration, keyword filtering, and document management. Pro Plus AI adds AI-powered bid recommendations, auto-registration with 500+ agencies, and advanced solicitation analysis. Both are recurring annual subscriptions priced per company, not per user.
Is there a free trial of VendorLine?
VendorLine does not offer a self-serve free trial. Prospects can schedule a personalized demo to see the platform in action, explore bid opportunities relevant to their business, and decide whether Pro or Pro Plus AI fits their needs before subscribing.
Is VendorLine a one-time payment or a subscription?
VendorLine Pro and Pro Plus AI are both recurring annual subscriptions, not one-time purchases. Subscriptions auto-renew annually and include bid search, agency registration, keyword filtering, and document management; Pro Plus AI adds AI-powered recommendations and auto-registration.
What is the difference between VendorLine Pro and VendorLine Pro Plus AI?
Pro includes bid search across the direct and extended agency network, manual agency registration, keyword and category filtering, saved searches, and document management (up to 10 documents). Pro Plus AI adds AI-powered bid recommendations that match solicitations to your business profile, plus auto-registration with 500+ PlanetBids-affiliated agencies.
Features & Limitations
What can VendorLine's AI do, and which bids does it analyze?
Pro Plus AI analyzes solicitation documents and matches them to your business profile using keywords, categories, and geographic preferences. AI analysis covers bids from the 500+ PlanetBids-affiliated agencies; coverage for bids from non-affiliated agencies in the extended network may be more limited.
Does VendorLine integrate with CRM systems?
VendorLine does not currently offer native CRM integration or automatic lead export. Bid data and opportunity lists can be exported manually. CRM integration is on the roadmap and being evaluated based on customer demand — contact the VendorLine team if this is a requirement for your workflow.
Can multiple users access VendorLine with one subscription?
VendorLine currently supports a single login per subscription; team members can share one set of credentials, but individual accounts and role-based permissions aren't available yet. Multi-user access with role-based permissions is planned — contact VendorLine to discuss team needs in the meantime.
What is the difference between PlanetBids and VendorLine?
PlanetBids is the procurement platform government agencies use to manage solicitations, vendor registration, and bid evaluation. VendorLine is the vendor-facing product that lets contractors and suppliers discover bid opportunities, register with agencies, and receive AI-powered recommendations. In short: agencies use PlanetBids, vendors use VendorLine — both are products of PlanetBids.
How many documents can I upload to VendorLine, and can I replace them?
VendorLine allows up to 10 documents on a business profile, commonly licenses, certifications, insurance certificates, and W-9s. Existing documents can be removed and replaced at any time, and documents can be submitted with bid responses.
Does VendorLine include federal bidding opportunities?
VendorLine's primary focus is state, county, city, and special-district (SLED) government opportunities, though federal solicitations are included too through our extended network. Federal bids are tagged with a dedicated icon so you can quickly spot and filter for them alongside SLED opportunities.
How VendorLine Compares
How does VendorLine compare to other bid management platforms?
VendorLine differs from most bid platforms in three ways: (1) it draws from a direct network of 500+ government agencies posting solicitations in real time through PlanetBids, not just aggregated third-party data; (2) Pro Plus AI matches solicitations to a business profile automatically; and (3) it includes auto-registration with those agencies, removing the need to register with each one individually.
How is VendorLine different from contractor directories and networking platforms?
VendorLine is a bid discovery and agency registration platform, not a contractor directory. Directories help businesses find and connect with each other; VendorLine helps vendors find active government solicitations, register with agencies, and get AI-assisted recommendations — covering the procurement workflow from discovery through submission rather than networking.
Does VendorLine cover cooperative purchasing agreements?
VendorLine focuses on state, county, city, and special-district government solicitations. Cooperative purchasing agreements aren't a primary feature, though some cooperative opportunities may appear in results from affiliated agencies. A dedicated cooperative purchasing platform may offer more complete coverage.
How does VendorLine get its bid opportunities?
VendorLine sources opportunities through two channels: a direct network of 500+ government agencies that post solicitations in real time through PlanetBids, and an extended network that aggregates publicly available solicitations from non-affiliated agency websites. The direct network is real-time and verified; the extended network relies on automated collection.
Results & Customer Feedback
How many government agencies are on VendorLine?
VendorLine's direct network includes 500+ government agencies on the PlanetBids procurement platform, posting solicitations in real time. The extended network aggregates additional opportunities from thousands of non-affiliated agencies, spanning states, counties, cities, school districts, and special districts nationwide.
Can I see bid results and award history on VendorLine?
VendorLine shows a bid's status — open, closed, or awarded. For PlanetBids-affiliated agencies, award information may be available directly on the platform. VendorLine doesn't yet offer comprehensive results analytics, win/loss tracking, or competitor pricing analysis across all agencies.
How many bid opportunities are typically available on VendorLine?
Opportunity volume varies by location, industry, and filters. Nationally, VendorLine surfaces thousands of active solicitations across its direct and extended networks; the number relevant to any one business depends on its profile and search criteria.
Getting Started
How do I set up keyword filters on VendorLine to find relevant bids?
Enter keywords in the search bar on the search or opportunities page; VendorLine matches them against bid titles, descriptions, and metadata anywhere in the solicitation document. Combine keywords with category and geographic filters, and favor specific terms (e.g. "ERP," "digital twins") over broad ones to cut down on noise.
Can I filter bids by geographic area or radius on VendorLine?
VendorLine supports geographic filtering by state, county, and city; radius-based filtering (e.g. within a set distance of a ZIP code) isn't currently available. To target a metro area, select the counties or cities that make it up.
Does VendorLine send notifications when new bids are posted?
VendorLine sends email notifications when new opportunities match saved keyword and category filters, and lets users monitor specific agencies for new postings. Notifications are delivered by email digest only — there's no push or SMS option today.
